The Strengths Approach for Caseworkers and Educators

1 day | cost $230 | 2 Mar

This one-day workshop reviews the core of our work as practitioners and reminds us of the essential ingredients that creates the space for change and growth to occur – namely how we respond to all we meet with deep respect and care. There are real and pressing demands in the workplace and whilst these cannot be dismissed, they also cannot be excuses for lessening the quality of our interactions with others.

We are the ‘tool’ that is instrumental in leading our clients and colleagues in understanding that our innate connections with each other are the footholds for coming out of the seeming ‘black holes’ we can fall into in life. In this workshop we will explore the conversations and processes that retrieve the connections with our own innate knowing of our strengths and experiences that tell us that the way forward is already there within us first.

In this practical workshop we will explore the foundations of engagement:

  • Worker self-awareness
  • Connecting with others
  • Openness
  • Listening
  • Clarity of purpose
  • Planning and work consistency

We will discuss and practice:

  • Conversation skills
  • Developing goals
  • Separating the person from their predicament
  • Meeting targets etc.
  • True support, debriefing and having fun!
