The Strengths Approach for Caseworkers and Educators

1 day | cost $230 | 7 May

How we feel about our clients, participants and ourselves will be clearly reflected in the quality of engagement with them and our ability to hold everyone as an equal. Our qualification, skills and experience are important but the most powerful tool for truly supporting and empowering others is in the relationship.

In this practical workshop we will explore the foundations of engagement:

  • Worker self-awareness
  • Connecting with others
  • Openness
  • Listening
  • Clarity of purpose
  • Planning and work consistency

We will discuss and practice:

  • Conversation skills
  • Developing goals
  • Separating the person from their predicament
  • Meeting targets etc.
  • True support, debriefing and having fun!
